Rumble on the River Rolls On: Another Incredible Year for CASA
For the second year in a row, Rumble on the River brought cars, families, music, food, and thousands of people together on the Madison riverfront in support of CASA of Jefferson County. After a week of watching the rain and wondering what Saturday would bring, the skies cleared just in time for approximately 300 vehicles and 5,500 spectators to join us for another incredible year. The rain picked back up after the show, but for those few hours, The Rumble rolled on—and our community showed up in a big way.
And despite the weather leading up to Saturday, approximately 300 vehicles still showed up to fill the riverfront. Around 5,500 people came through the event, we awarded more than 75 trophies and plaques, and every single one of our swag bags went out the door.
For only our second year, we are incredibly proud of what Rumble on the River has become. More than 100 sponsors supported this year’s show. That is a huge number, and it says so much about this community.
Our Main Sponsors, Arvin Sango, Blue Collar Retirement, and Miller Automotive, believed in this event in a big way, and we are incredibly grateful. Wonderland Studios was also a major sponsor and continues to be such an important partner to CASA and this event. And then there is Super Shine. They returned as our T-shirt sponsor again this year, and they simply always show up for us. Every time we need them, they are there. We are so grateful for the way they continue to support CASA and the children we serve.
Our footprint was bigger this year, and we were able to offer a variety of food vendors. We were especially happy to hear from vendors afterward that the day was good for their businesses, too. A special thank you to Troublemakers Food Truck and DonutNV for leading our food court and helping us bring that part of the event together.
A special thank you goes to Keagan Hatton, who once again took on the task of organizing all of the live music for Rumble on the River. Keagan has supported CASA of Jefferson County for several years and has continued to give his time and talents whenever we have needed him. Following the show, we had the opportunity to surprise Keagan with a Champion for Children plaque in recognition of his continued support of our organization and the children we serve. It was a special way to end an already incredible event season and recognize someone who has quietly and consistently shown up for CASA year after year.
One of the most meaningful moments of Rumble was the Memorial Day honor program. A very special thank you to American Legion Post 9 for the changing of the flag and for helping us pause in the middle of a very busy day to remember what Memorial Day represents. Thank you also to Bobby Adams with the Bee Camp Bottom Boys for singing our National Anthem.
We also gave out every one of our swag bags this year! Thank you to each business and organization that donated items, coupons, information, and goodies to help fill them. More than anything, we hope your participation introduced new people to your businesses and brings new customers through your doors. Rumble on the River is about supporting CASA, but we also want this event to be good for the businesses that support us. When our community shows up for CASA, we want to do everything we can to show up for our community in return.
Most importantly, thank you to every judge, volunteer, participant, sponsor, vendor, board member, car owner and spectator who made this day possible. There are so many people working behind the scenes of an event this size, and there is simply no way to name everyone who had a hand in it.
Rumble on the River has quickly become something very special to us. At the end of the day, all of this work has a purpose: supporting CASA of Jefferson County and helping us continue advocating for children who need someone in their corner.
To more than 100 sponsors, approximately 300 vehicles and 5,500 people who showed up for year two — thank you.
We are already thinking about year three, and look forward to seeing everyone then!
